(2014-04-15) Three vessels of the Jüngerhans fleet have recently been
sold. MV "ATAIR J"and MV "AQUARIUS J" are two identical 700 TEU
container feeder vessels. Though a restructuring plan, which was in
autumn of last year negotiated with the bank, had earlier found wide
approval by the shareholders, the capital commitments necessary for its
implementation were in the end not sufficient.
"Unfortunately, it was for these two vessels inevitable to file for bankruptcy for reasons that we ultimately could no longer influence", said Stefan Jüngerhans. "This has never happened before in our long corporate history," he regretted. The two vessels of the type "RW700" were created as a collaboration between the Peene shipyard in Wolgast and the Roland shipyard in Berne-Ganspe in March and June of 2004, respectively.
MV "STELLA J", so far being the smallest vessel in the fleet, was also sold. MV "STELLA J" was built at the Chinese JinLing shipyard and entered into operations in December of 2000.
