Jüngerhans regulates QUALITY HEALTH SAFETY and ENVIRONMENT through an integrated system and everyone at Jüngerhans Shipping Company is focused on safety.

Especially the heavy lift industry requires tough safety procedures and Jüngerhans meet this very high safety standards. All vessels are certified accordingly to ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, MLC, ISO regulations and the ISPS Code.

Jüngerhans commitment to safety, health and environmental and continuously operate with highest attention for safety and health as well as environmental consideration and that is what we want to present to customer, owners and the public.

All our vessels are regularly visited by our office team of QHSE-manager, Nautical and Technical Superintendents to maintain our system and procedures which declare that we observe regulations applicable to our work experience and in accordance with Jüngerhans commitment to safety, health and environmental.

International Safety Management (ISM)

Since 1 July 1998 the essential rulings of International Safety Management (ISM) code, adopted by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) in 1993, were implemented.

Already since 1 July 1996 certain types of vessels (e.g. ferries) must adhere with these rulings and vessels from Jüngerhans have had to strictly comply with these codes since 1 July 2002.

ISM regulations cover shipping safety and management systems, which also apply to people on board as well as on land.

Certification and periodical verification for the Document of Compliance (DOC)

The Ship should be operated by a company which has been issued with a Document of compliance.

The period of validity for the DOC is five years. The DOC is only valid for the ship types and flags states explicitly indicated in the document.

An external audit by the classification society takes place annually to verify that the company continuously meets the requirements of the ISM Code and to validate the DOC for another year.
