trans-Mar-supply GmbH & Co. KG was founded in early 2002 as a
joint venture between the shipping companies Jüngerhans and Harren
& Partner, managed by Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Volkens, in order to
efficiently pool the purchasing activities of various shipping companies
within the framework of a joint organization. The synergies resulting
from the management of an extensive fleet of about 200 vessels can
thereby be fully exploited and are noticeable in significant cost
savings.
The nautical and technical inspectors and the officers responsible on
board are freed from administrative activities in the areas of logistics
/ procurement / storage and can therefore fully concentrate on the safe
and reliable operation of the vessels.
All activities in this context, from order acceptance to complete
delivery of the required components on board the vessels, are provided
by the specialists of trans-Mar-supply. This includes:
- order acceptance and release of the purchase order after approval has been granted by the inspection,
- temporary storage,
- arranging land, sea and air freight,
- creating catalogs of goods specific to shipping companies,
- consultation and implemenation regarding computerized solutions
in the field of PMS, purchasing and warehousing as well as
- drawing up budget and respective budget monitoring.
