New cooperation with INTERSCHALT

(2014-06-01) Jüngerhans has chosen INTERSCHALT maritime systems AG as
its new service provider. Since July 1, 2014 INTERSCHALT has been
responsible for the complete navigation and communication system
services aboard 20 ships in the Jüngerhans fleet.
The INTERSCHALT Shore-based Maintenance (IS-SBM) service package has been tailored to suit the specific needs of the shipping company. The "Just Sail" service includes coordination and annual performance tests of the systems and procurement of any necessary spare parts. Main ports throughout the world have been defined where the INTERSCHALT experts service the navigation and communication systems on board the ships. By awarding this contract, the shipping company is reducing its own administrative expenses and profits through the high degree of budget security that is offered by a fixed yearly price. Detailed monthly reporting of accrued costs for services and materials for each ship ensures transparency.
"It didn't take us long to be convinced by INTERSCHALT's modern and varied service concept. The individual consulting beforehand, the on-site service, and the regular assessments are of a very high standard. A level of quality that also has a positive effect on our fleet, since it conserves the fleet's value in the long term and also avoids off-hire times," said Jens Köster, Fleet Operations Manager at Jüngerhans. The services and products from INTERSCHALT are not new to the shipping company. It has been using software products, such as the MACS3 loading computer on board its ships for several years. "Our heavy-lift vessels transport project cargo of various sizes and weights throughout the world. We also use an INTERSCHALT product for the stability calculation, the well-known MACS3 loading computer," explains Jens Köster.
