Management taken over for further heavy-lift vessel
04.01.2016
With the heavy-lift vessel MV "INDUSTRIAL CHARGER", the heavy-lift fleet
in technical management of the Jüngerhans shipping company has now
grown to 20 units. In addition to the two heavy-lift vessels MV
"INDUSTRIAL CHIEF" and MV "INDUSTRIAL CHALLENGER", this is now the third
vessel that is currently under technical management. The two vessels
being built in 2000 originate from the identical series of the
Portuguese shipyard Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo. "INDUSTRIAL
CHIEF" and "INDUSTRIAL CHALLENGER" have since their delivery by the
Shipyard both been employed by the US heavy-lift shipping company
Intermarine. The former MV "HARUN J" and MV "DIANA J" returned to the
technical management of the shipping company already after one and five
years, respectively. The former MV "VIRGO J" now returns after nine
years. At a length of 119.8 m and a beam of 20 m, the vessel at a draft
of 6,70m has a loading capacity of 8,000 tons. The ship has a flexible
tween deck and is equipped with two electro-hydraulic heavy-cargo
cranes. Their maximum lifting capacity is 200 tons each but can in
combined operation by use of a special traverse be increased to up to
400 tons. The type MAK 6M43 main engine produces a power of 5,400 kw,
generating a speed of 16 knots.
