Beginning and end

MV "HEINRICH J" recently moored at the Portuguese shipyard Estaleiros Navais de Viana do Castelo (ENVC) following her last voyage for the Jüngerhans shipping company as she was sold in April of this year. The vessel was in October of 1998 delivered by ENVC shipyard and shall now, 18.5 years later, also bid farewell there. At a length of 119.8 meters and a beam of 20.63 meters, the vessel at a draft of 6.5 meters provides a loading capacity of 6,800 tons (DWT) and a slot capacity of 644 TEU, respectively. Furthermore, the ship disposes of two cranes with a lifting capacity of 45 tons each. The main engine model WÄRTSILÄ 9L38 produces a performance of 5,940 kw generating a speed of 15 knots.
